Hi everyone I’m back!

I’m going to try to start writing more consistently on here for the rest of the year! I’ve been so busy these past few months that I completely forget to post on here, but I will do my best to be more active on here.
I am currently highlighting the Caribbean and Central America for the blog and for my travels.
My first solo travel experiences to the Caribbean were Dominican Republic and Jamaica!
You can find the vlog below here!
I also went to Cuba last year for an education conference and I spent time in Camaguey!
Ok so for my summer jobs I worked in the Caribbean in the US Virgin Islands and in the western region of the island of Puerto Rico!

Puerto Rico
I so enjoyed working with the Caribbean Posh Women Conference and El Oasis Hotel in Puerto Rico was my first hotel social media collaboration experience. They have a beautiful atmosphere and are currently rebuilding it so very few staff are there and people are visiting so it was peaceful.

I’ve been using Trusted Housesitters, Workaway, and Worldpackers’s to get around the USA and to travel the world for the past year and a half.

That is how I found this opportunity in the Caribbean to work with the El Oasis hotel and Que Sera farms and the department of USVI agriculture.

I have also been doing Public Relations work:
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to have been a vendor with Caribbeanposh for the weekend! What an incredible event !
I have no words to describe how this weekend made me feel and I’m glad that I was able to get a glimpse into the hashtag#Caribbean and the powerful women who represent it. I met women from St. Lucia, St Thomas and St Croix, St Cruz, and Jamaica. All of them were amazing!!

As a marketing and social media professional, I got to expand my network to include so many new regions of the world and I look forward to the work we are able to continue to do together!
This event is almost a decade old, and it inspires me as an hashtag#event coordinator and hashtag#community builder to continue to bring together people from all walks of life.”

I also spent time at the St John Carnival this summer and it was absolutely beautiful!

As for Central America, I am currently teaching in Honduras, and Honduras is significantly undereducated compared to other countries.

I was reached out to by a school in Honduras last year before I went to India, and that is how I ended up here as a teacher for the current academic year.
I’ve been traveling around the country since July teaching with different schools and cities including Tela, and San Pedro Sula in the coastal region.
I also am a private instructor for families as well.
It’s been a bit difficult because of communication and language barriers (even though I speak Spanish I don’t understand their dialect all the time), but it’s also been very rewarding for me as well.
I would recommend if you want to teach and live here speak Spanish enough to get around.
I have created a Go Fund Me for the schools I teach!

I also spent time working with the kids in Garifuna community and interviewing the elders in Triunfo Del LA Cruz in Tela Honduras as well.
I also have been teaching in the island of Utila Honduras and it’s a lot easier to communicate here as English and patois is spoken here.

Solo Travel advice:
If you are looking to get into teaching abroad and solo travel I recommend using Teach Away and Teaching Nomad to find opportunities!

I also recommend that you contact the local embassy for US with the STEP program and let them know that you will be in the country you travel to.
I look forward to sharing more information soon!

Until the next adventure,
