Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me!
I realized that I never really made a post for my transition for my year after graduating from college, and the gap year I took from graduate school. I graduated from Hampton University on December 11, 2021.

Fun fact: I celebrated my birthday (12/12/) in Dominican Republic right after graduation for a full week!

Another fun fact: the speaker at my graduation is also the mayor of my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
During the year after, I spent time working for a PR agency, and as a gate agent in training for Southwest Airlines. I also have worked as a freelance writer for Travel Noire, and as a kindergarten teacher in a charter school in Florida.

During this time, my grandmother and grandfather I wrote about an interviewed while in Cameroon and family friend who was Hampton’s oldest living graduate also passed.

In fall 2022, I buried my grandmother back in Cameroon.

It led me to me reconnecting with my community and with my roots.
It also led to me discovering a new life, the life that I’m currently living.

She passed the same day as the Queen, September 8 2022, and they passed away a year apart as well.
I was the only grandchild able to be there, so I spoke on things close to my heart and theirs regarding my future.
Please watch the video here.
Grief has been a process, and so that is why I have decided to take my time in sharing about this year of my life.
I learned about resiliency, and my ability to walk through hard seasons.
Starting grad school was difficult.
Returning back to the U.S. was hard.
But I chose to fight for the future that my grandparents wanted for me to have, and the life they wanted me to live. I’m now very grateful that I did.
Thank you for reflecting with me!
Until the next adventure,
